Premier League - Man Utd 'to announce massive Rooney deal today'

According to the BBC, Manchester United will confirm Wayne Rooney has agreed a new five-and-a-half year deal today.

David Moyes holds his weekly press conference later on Friday at United’s Carrington training ground and it is suggested that he will have good news to impart.
Rooney and United have been in talks over a deal worth a reported £300,000 per week and it seems both parties are now in a position to announce that the striker will be committing his future to the club.
The striker, who has scored 208 goals for United, 41 less than record holder Sir Bobby Charlton, was a summer transfer target for Chelsea and was believed to be interested in leaving the club after Sir Alex Ferguson claimed he had asked for a transfer.
However, Rooney denied an official transfer request had been made and tying him to a new contract will be seen as a big coup for David Moyes.
