Guys, we're about to get super serious for a minute…
There are some terrible and tragic things happening in Venezuela due to their political turmoil. Students and activists have been peacefully protesting their government's social and economic crisis due to the illegitimate & corrupt government.
However, that very same government and their military have turned these peaceful protests deadly.
Which only further proves the point that these protests are NEEDED to bring light to the Venezuelan people's suffering.
This brings us to Genesis Carmona and her vicious and unjust death.
The 22 year-old beauty queen was brutally shot in the head during one of those peaceful protests and succumbed to her injuries in a hospital yesterday.
So, so terrible.
A family member of hers spoke out on her death and the terrible events happening in Venezuela.
They said:
"How long are we going to live like this? How long do we have to tolerate this pressure, with them killing us? She only needed one more semester to graduate."
Her death marks the fifth reported fatality due to the protests.
Not only is the Military & government killing their students AND people, but they've blocked all the airwaves, including television and radio, and they have now blocked the country's access to Twitter, so that news of the turmoil can't even get out.
Plus, a group of journalists from CNN were robbed at gunpoint and had all of their cameras and equipment taken away from them.
These events and SO many more are truly, truly heartbreaking and proves that the light NEEDS to be shown on this terrible situation.
Venezuela, we'll be praying for you and hoping peace comes soon.
