Milan linked with Real keeper Lopez
Milan could make an approach at the end of the season to Real Madrid for Diego Lopez, reports in Italy have said.
AS quotes Tuttosport as saying the Rossoneri will be in the market for a goalkeeper to replace former Atletico Madrid custodian Christian Abbiati, who will turn 37 very shortly and, as such, is considered to be in the final stages of his career.
Lopez is Madrid’s first choice for League matches but hands the gloves over to Iker Casillas for the Copa del Rey and often the Champions League.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti inherited the situation from his predecessor, Jose Mourinho, but has described it as “abnormal,” suggesting he is open to resolving the dilemma at the end of the season.
But Milan could face competition from Tottenham Hotspur to sign Lopez, who moved to Santiago Bernabeu from Villarreal in January 2013.
